ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strong understanding of mechanical system design.
- High mechanical aptitude and familiarity with most hand & power tools.
- Understanding of metal fabrication and manufacturing methods.
- Understanding of piping, couplings, and hydraulics.
- Understanding of AC and DC electrical theory and digital meter (DVOM) troubleshooting.
- Provide design and engineering support for client installations and upgrades.
- Design manufacturing methods, assembly cells, fixtures, quality/validation tests.
- Work with the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) department to identify problems as well as develop and validate solutions.
- Assist in the research and development of new technologies and methods designing fixtures and methods, and interfacing with scientists/lab personnel.
- Identify and develop cost savings opportunities and capital upgrades relating to lighting, mechanical and electrical systems, energy management systems, water consuming equipment and fixtures, and the building envelope.
- Create formal documentation, including memorandums, reports, status reports, etc., which are routine deliverables.
- Travel requirement: up to 65% (at certain mature project phases).
ENGINEER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or 5 years of relevant industrial experience.
- Possess technical writing skills.
- Possess highly developed interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to build, assemble and troubleshoot equipment.
- Flour and/or Specialty Grain Technical Milling Experience, a plus
- Experience in an agriculture or manufacturing environment. Commodity based ingredients a plus.
- Experience with Italpack, Haver, and Viking packaging equipment a plus.
- Strong technical knowledge with strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience managing CAPEX projects and budgets between $5k - $5M+.
- Ability to read, sketch, and understand mechanical, piping, and electrical drawings.
- Must be “hands on” with eager desire to get dirty and lead by example.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Standing and walking on concrete floors.
- Exposure to hot work hazards.
- Usage of various machine shop tools and handheld power tools.
- Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Sometimes work in hazardous conditions, such as around chemicals and machinery.
- PPE may require you to wear a full face or half face respirator.
