GENERAL MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee transportation, dispatchers and drivers.
- Develop/ maintain relationships and onboard new customers.
- Analyze and provide rate structure for lanes based on markets.
- Optimize company assets for maximum profit.
- Develop and implement Food Safety & OSHA standards for the trucking division.
- Work with potential outside carriers for rates, transportation needs to maximize the company's effectiveness to deliver freight at the best possible rates.
- Wash bay auditing for internal and external wash bay facilities.
- Ensure the effectiveness of the operation’s communication, interaction, and relationship with company drivers.
- Anticipate, analyze, and troubleshoot problems with deliveries and devise cost-effective and legal solutions.
- Oversee the management of tractor maintenance, compliance, and service delivery.
- Track operational performance, including on-time pickup and delivery, volume, equipment balance and empty miles.
- Coordinate backhauls and pick-ups.
- Ensure optimum delivery reliability to the customer by developing efficient and effective production flow processes.
- Identify opportunities to increase performance, improve processes and find efficiencies, and coordinate with leaders to implement solutions.
- Ensure compliance of all safety, company, and DOT policies.
- Maintain a safe work environment and foster a positive team dynamic.

GENERAL MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience of experience in the transportation industry, preferably in food transportation.
- 2+ years of transportation management experience.
- Knowledge of the Transportation industry, logistics, and regulations (49 CFR).
- Experience with hiring, onboarding, and overseeing drivers and driver operations.
- Fleet management experience is a plus.
- Comfortable communicating with people outside the organization.
- Proven ability to work in a high pressure, time-sensitive environment.
- Experience working with executives.
- Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to embrace changes to adapt to shifting business needs and emerging technologies.
- Well-organized and self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision, including ability to independently identify, research, and resolve issues.
- Posses class A CDL
- Possess strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Must be highly proficient or willing to learn Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Open to 60% travel, or as needed.

- This position will require some physical effort such as pulling and lifting.
- Repetitive actions such as typing, answering phones, etc.
