AP ACCOUNTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and process vendor invoices in a timely manner.
- Other misc. invoices as assigned.
- Generate ACH and positive pay uploads.
- Match Auto ACH’s to pending payables file.
- Address Positive Pay issues as they arise.
- Maintain unmatched RPO (received not invoiced) account for non-intercompany accounts.
- Communicate with internal customers, including plant locations.
- Dispute and discrepancy resolution.
- Enforce company policies: Vendor Management and Invoice Approval.
- Vendor reconciliation and communication.
- Maintain open and paid accounts payable files.
- Adhere to accounts payable internal control procedures.
- General clerical duties include typing, calculating, and filing of records and statements.
- Handle preparation of 1099’s.
- Prepare and mail out physical checks.
- Support invoice copy request for CIP/other expenses by team members and internal customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
AP ACCOUNTANT QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or as an accounting clerk.
- Intermediate or above knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Accounts payable and journal entry experience required.
- Process management experience with a high level of organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize deadlines.
- Focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Frequently required to sit, walk, and stand.
- Frequently use hands, arms, and fingers for high volume of typing, etc.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
